While the Keto diet works wonders for most people, there's no denying that a good opposition always questions, "Is the keto diet safe?" The answer is yes. At least for those who let the right set of instructions guide them through it.

People make some shortcuts to reach to the end and end up doing damage to their bodies. The most common shortcut that people follow is by starving themselves. Then comes the not drinking enough water part. This can cause serious damage to your kidneys. A keto-diet never makes one push his body beyond its capacity. People try to ditch the effort altogether and try these hacks. When they fail, they blame paint the blame on the concept of keto-diet.

While Keto diet is safe to adopt as long as you are a healthy individual and follow the actual rules, there are some things you need to know if you have some ailments like diabetes or liver fat and if you are pregnant or just delivered a baby that still needs to be breastfed.

So here are a few things to take note of before deciding if you want to take this diet or not:

For the big question, yes and no. The answer will change as per who is asking. Generally, type 2 diabetes people are overweight so this diet can fetch some good results.

As for people with type 1 diabetes, things do not look good. If you're one of them, you should consult your doctor as they are the experts and your medication might also need some changes.

Since the keto diet requires high fat intake, your heart might feel like it has been punched. Moreover, keto-diet like diabetes also takes away some permissible food items off your table. So there is a greater chance of missing some much-needed nutrition.

Keto diet also pulls hard at your liver and kidneys. Not to mention, the end product might be some constipation. However, only type 1 people look for the diet and with some tweaks, it is safe and effective for them.

Yes. It is. Straightforward right?

Fatty liver is a problem that is basically the lacing of layers of fat in the liver. This can be because of high carbs intake, high sugar, sedentary lifestyle, etc.

The body can develop Insulin resistance and even give you a large waist-size.

Keto-diet helps this condition by reducing liver fat by decreasing the carbs intake. It also helps lessen insulin resistance.

Consulting your doctor is an un-skip-able option at this point. Also, your keto-diet will also differ slightly from that of a healthy individual.

Is Keto Diet Safe For Thyroid?

This is quite an arguable topic. There have been cases where keto-diet is safe and productive for Thyroid patients. Meanwhile, things have gone south for some.

This is not the result of keto-diet as such, but more of how your body responds to the changes it brings.

For someone, the keto-diet slows down metabolism by 5-15% which is our body's way of saving energy. This also reduces thyroid hormone production and stabilizes the flow. However, for some people, the level drops too low which kicks in a response to produce even more hormones.

This hormone strains the body as does keto-diet. Both together can be harder to handle. Therefore, you should consult your doctor and also listen to how your body is responding to the new dietary changes.

Stop if it does not feel good. In case you have your doctor's nod and your body gives a positive response, keto-diet can actually help the condition to backtrack and lose weight at the same time.

Eat well. Eat right.
